Disable chirp on lock/unlock

Featured Replies

Hello,

I must be searching for the wrong thing. I can find loads of threads on chirping horn on lock.

My 2019 Ford Focus chirps when I lock it - not the horn, it's like a bird chirp. Once for unlock and twice for lock. It's super loud and I would like to disable it and just rely on the lights flashing and the mirrors turning in to know I've locked it.

Is this possible?

Thanks

Russ

Yes not only is it possible it's been compulsory in the UK for many years that the car is silent when locking/unlocking, I don't know what the rules are in Ireland.

You can use FORScan and a vLinker FS cable and turn the feature off in the Body Control Module.

FORScan (for use with Windows Laptop) : https://forscan.org/download.html

It's what many Ford owners use including some Ford technicians.

Thank you! It's due for a service soon so I'll see if I can get them to do it then.
