2019 Ford Focus ST Line X Ecoblue

Featured Replies

I had issues with the satnav not remembering previous destinations on my 2019 Focus sync 3 unit. I performed a master reset and the satnav just had a busy pointer going round and round. Radio worked fine. I tried resetting several times and now I only have a grey screen, if I try resetting the ford logo comes up but then goes to a grey screen. I can only use the radio through the stalk on the steering wheel. I booked into my local Ford main dealer and paid £165 for a diagnostic check. They told me it reported a problem with the audio switch pack unit. They said it needed replacing at a cost of £170 then they would need to carry out further tests. They did say that it might fix the problem but I'm not so sure. I don't use the buttons very much apart from the on/off and volume. Car has only done 35000 miles and I have owned it for 4 years. It seems like Ford give me the impression they just want to change parts with no regard to the cost in the hope that something will work. Does anyone have any ideas what the problem might be. Thanks

Disconnect the car battery negative lead for at least 20 minutes.

Reconnect the battery, do not turn on the ignition or do anything, WAIT.

After 5 minutes turn the ignition and allow time for the radio screen to fully boot.

Thanks, I will try that tomorrow and let you know. I did try disconnecting the battery for 30 minutes when the issue first occured but I did not wait after reconnecting it.

If that doesn't work do you have any other suggestions

Use FORScan and see what Ford specific DTC's there are.

FORScan (for use with Windows Laptop) : https://forscan.org/download.html

It's what many Ford owners use including some Ford technicians.

OR

For diagnostic use only:
