Minor issue after replacing battery

Featured Replies

I'm sure there was a thread about a similar issue not long ago but I can't find it, so I'll start another one...

I changed the battery on my mates 15 plate Focus 1.5 Titanium diesel last week and then reset the BMS but he has just texted me to say that everything works apart from the nearside mirror doesn't now fold on locking the car. Am I correct in saying that disconnecting the battery for 30 minutes or so should hopefully fix this ??

It's always worth a try.

I got told yesterday that this problem still happens from time to time along with the front passenger door sometimes not locking or un-locking, even though they tried dis-connecting the battery for a while. Could it be the dreaded BCU fault, or does that not affect this particular model ??

Yes it could quite possibly be a problem with the BCM or at least the connectors. Many models suffer with water ingress to the BCM.

Yeah, meant BCM...cheers Unofix...it is likely going for the cambelt doing shortly so will ask the mechanic to have a look at this too 👍
