2020 Focus -DPF reoccurring issues

Featured Replies

My elderly father bought a 2020 focus 1.5D about 7/8 months ago. He is now out of his 6 month warrenty.
The car was back to the dealership 4 times due to the DPF light coming on. Works done include cleaning the DPF sensors, then replacing sensors and cleaning something or other.  They’ve said he isn’t driving it enough and it’s going to keep happening. They won’t produce paperwork.
They won’t stand over it now despite it being an issue reported within the warrenty period. He bought a wee cheap diagnostic device and it’s now reading ‘NOX converter below threshold’.

Has anyone got advice on what this could be as his own mechanic said it could be a number of things and it’s going to be trial and error trying to pinpoint the issue

Diesel engines don't like short journeys, it really needs to be taken down the motorway for a good run but regularly, what some used to call an Italian tune up !

Modern diesels are no good for pottering about in.

You'll have nothing but trouble with it, swap it for a petrol
