Question... Does Mk3 Z-S got parking sensor optionals?!

Featured Replies

I was looking around eBay, I couldn't find Zetec S Mk3 centre grill with parking sensor included since my Focus came with front parking sensor, there none Z-S around eBay as used parts that had front parking sensor front centre grill. It's made me thinking does that Z-S never got parking sensor at front optionals?!
(Because... Z-S had nicer honey comb style grill than original stripe one...)

At least as far as the early Mk3 was concerned, Iirc front sensors were only available where the car had active park assist as part of the convenience pack (standard on Tit X, optional elsewhere).

Guess it’s drilling job then! There not much Z-S got one as I know only Z-S had holy comb style grill.

Yes, as Eric says, front park aid only as part of convenience pack so the grille exists

So it’s meaning it’s better to drill to make hole?

Not just holes.

The parking sensors are clipped into sensor brackets that are part of the front grille. These brackets are only present in a front grille with sensor holes.

If you want to install parking sensors in a front grill without sensor holes you have to drill the holes and install the sensor brackets. Ford does not supply suitable sensor brackets. Aftermarket sensor brackets can be used which need to be bonded or plastic welded (depending on the design of the bracket) to the back of the front grille.

It is however much easier to just buy the correct front honeycomb grille with sensor holes. These however cost a fortune these days from Ford and used ones are quite hard to find.

Note that these honeycomb were not only used on the Zetec-S in the UK but also as part of the Individual styling pack in the rest of Europe.

With limited time I have whist bumper replacement was off, I guess got no choice but used original grille… I want period correction because my focus came Ford genuine fitted parking sensor… whose else aftermarket would have my parking automatic.
