Fitted new wishbones / drop links and RS brake conversion using Mtec RS discs c/w RS splash plates and HEL s/s lines, all fitted to the standard steering knuckle. They say it cant be done, well heres the proof they are wrong. Oh and new RS style wheels, along with new Uniroyal Rainsport 5 tyres. 😁

Nice upgrade.

Just out of curiosity. Who did say that it can't be done?

It is a well known fact that both the Focus MK3/MK3.5 ST and MK3.5 RS brakes are a bolt on upgrade to any Focus MK3/MK3.5.

In fact, many brakes of other Ford models and even Jaguar and Volvo do fit onto the Focus MK3/MK3.5.

I suggest to also upgrade the rear disc brakes to the RS ones.

On the Focus MK3/MK3.5 the brake disc sizes are configured in the vehicle configuration (CCC). When upgrading to bigger brakes the configuration should also be changed to correct the brake bias.

I had already upgraded rear brakes to ST spec discs / calipers. The originals were drums. So i bought new discs before i found out RS ones were 300mm. To move up id need the Mazda caliper carriers or RS ones. Maybe next time i will do that conversion and upgrade. Took car out and the brakes are fine stop on a dime and im happy atm. RS calipers are no different from what is fitted only the disc size changes hense the different carriers.
