Try your key fob - press the boot release button twice in quick succession...

May be worth stating which model you have. I know on my Mk2 boot is controlled via 'fuse panel' in passenger footwell, and I don't think there's a way to release it mechanically although others may know better.

I think that's what he meant when he said "I cannot release boot lock using remote key" Stephen.

I've always thought relying solely on an electrically-operated latch was a very bad idea.

Latch or button? I thought it was the button you'd had to replace several times due to water ingress.

Good memory! I'm actually on my 4th button, the original, next 2 x cheapo Ebay copies, and the current genuine Ford one from a breakers. The latch is still the original.

I'm also on my 4th bonnet lock 🤣 Again, original, then 2 x chepos, now a genuine Ford, again from a breaker.
