2.0 tdci fuel issue part 2

Featured Replies

Its just never ending with this issue , so i finally got the car to start has so much air in the system the only way i could get it to run was an electric pump feeding into the hp pump started almost immediately i bypassed the filter just to see if i could leave it idle and clear itself , idled for 20mins perfectly then as i tried to increase the revs it got to 1800 rpms then seemed to choke up or not get enough fuel dont no which it then stalled fired back up idled perfect then cut out again when i tried to increase the rpms HELP ! Im on the verge of taking a sledge hammer to every inch of it

If you bypassed the filter for 20 minutes the fuel system is probably wrecked by now anyway.

But to answer the question, what type of electric pump were you using?  That may not have been able to flow enough for higher RPMs if it's not a proper lift pump.

And, have you found the source of the air leak, otherwise it will never be fixed?

How did you remove the pump without introducing more air?  It does sound like it sucked an air bubble through when you revved it.  Have you got any live data tools at all?  Watching the rail pressure should show us whether it's still getting aired up or not.
