Mk2 Facelift -CC3 Washer Pump issue

Featured Replies

I have tried a search of the forum, but not quite found anything Focus related.

The washer jets stopped working the other day, I thought it was an empty bottle, but after filling and testing, the pumps no longer operate. I have checked the fuse, (137) it looks good, and when i press the wiper button to wash the screen, the wipers do about 3 passes but no pump noise. My assumption is that the pump has failed.

Also, as the Focus CC does not have a rear screen to wash, I am looking for a single output unit. The Ford one listed on ebay from Ford, is £110, and most others I see are in the £11 to £20 range.

Given that the pump replacement requires taking off the offside front wheel and arch liner. Is there anything else I should check before I start ?

Thanks

It’s quite possible the pump motor has failed, mine died a while back with similar symptoms. Think the only other check you Lendon’s see if you’re getting 12V at the wiring connector to the washer tank but the wheelarch liner still needs to come off to access it.

For the replacement pump could you just get a standard hatchback pump and blank off the rear washer tube connector? It shouldn’t activate in any case as you’ll not have rear washer function coming from the BCM/GEM and it’s only a 2-wire connection anyhow.

Mondeo saloon would probably be OK too, maybe??

Oh, there was a MK2 Focus saloon wasn't there, that will do it

Ford finis code   1357105    Single output (front screen)

Used on lots of Ford & Volvo models. Very common part can be found on eBay from £6 to around £20

It was the pump. ended up with a Febi 34864, which had the same part number, marked for Volvo on the box and 'FoMoCo' scratched out.

Taken the opportunity to Bilt Hamber and Lanoguard the area behind the splash guard.

Thanks again.
