FIESTA MK6 2005 OUTER FRONT DOOR PANEL

Featured Replies

By this I mean the plastic panel that is behind the panel that holds the lock handle and inside door handle. I need to get access to the inside of the passenger front door to push out a dent. The inner panel comes off fine but behind that is the plastic panel that has "something" holding it at about the 10 O clock mark, i.e. a bit north west of centre. The window is out and I just cannot see what is left to hold the panel. At this rate I'll have to use filler and sander OMG. The photo is from Youtube my door is back in one piece now.

You have removed door handle and three bolts holding in door lock ?  Loudspeaker removal helps. That panel carries everything, cable harness etc.

Haynes manual tells you nearly everything, that is what I have used.

Dunno, can you PULL the dent out instead?

PULL the dent out ........that was hopeless, tried drilling three holes in the door behind the plastic rub-bar. Made a wooden bar with three bent nails through it. Wiggled the nails through my three holes. Each time I pulled the wooden bar the panel came out & went back. Hence I then attacked from the inside. There's a reinforcing bar across the middle of the door front to back. Or back to front. That's what was making it bounce back each time.

So I tried approaching from the inside to push out the reinforcing bar and got stuck with removing the second-outer panel.

So sorry been so long replying, not for the first time in forums my alerts fail to appear. I'll check forum settings again

Paulkp......I did not remove the lock, only the handle to the lock. Gradually filling it now OMG. Sorry about the bold - the bold-unbold button is not working for me.
