Passive Keyless Entry Module Programming/PATS Initialisation

Featured Replies

Hello all,

I have a Ford Focus MK2.5 with Keyless Entry/Start, and have been dealing with some issues in the last couple of months. The car struggles to detect the keys intermittently, and gradually worsens. I've created another thread where I received great advice on what it probably is, and have done some research myself, which has led me to believe it is the Passive Keyless Entry module located in the boot.

This is the thread for further information:

I bought a replacement Passive Keyless Entry module/Keyless Vehicle module and have tried to program it into my car via FORScan myself; however, it requires the ignition to turn on during the process, which doesn't work because the car states "Key Not Detected". I'm assuming this is because it is searching for the keys from the previous car. The part has the same part number.

Is there a way I can go about programming this? Or would a Ford Specialist garage be able to do this procedure? I have called one not too far from me, and they have provided me with a quote, but I just want to double-check if it is possible and not waste any further time. What would the ideal steps to take be?

Any knowledge/advice would be highly appreciated!
