Ecoboost 1.0

Gol used this has been posted a thousand times,  recent purchases a 2019 1.0 ecoboost with 25k on clock and unsure if the engine is a wet belt or chain,  this is my first newer car after having my old knackered zetec for 15 years and really starting to wish I had it back,  I know absolutely nothing about cars and it’s only since getting the ecoboom that I’ve had a few people mention the wet belts,  pretty gutted if I’m honest that I’ve waited this long and then potentially bought a car that’s a liability.

can you tell from this pic?

And the rest! It's a chain cam drive, like all Mk 4 1.0 petrols, but retains a wet belt to drive the oil pump.
