Does this genuine Ford timing belt kit include pulley bolt?

Featured Replies

As the title says. The images don't show it.

I tried the contact us window on the site. I kept getting an error message when I tried to send them this same question.

Ford timing belt kit include crank bolt?

Probably not. Why do you want to remove the 'crankshaft bolt' ? 🤔

I have changed the title to pulley bolt. I meant crankshaft pulley bolt, but the thread title only allows so many letters.

I am asking as the aftermarket kits do usually contain two of them as there are two different lengths.

If I remember correctly when I did a few of these on the focus mk2 and the Cmax the kits did not come with the crank pulley bolt. I went to ford to get the new ones.

Thanks for the reply. Someone else I know recently did their 1.6 Sigma engine timing belt. The kit contained three bolts. Their engine used the short 12mm bolt. The longer 12mm bolt could easily be cut down to replace the shorter type if required.

These are the actual bolt spec details for future reference:

M12 x 1.5 full thread x 29mm Long with 36mm diameter flanged head.

M12 x 1.5 full thread x 45mm Long with 36mm diameter flanged head.

Both of these are marked 1100 which is apparently equivalent to 12.9 Grade.

M14 x 1.5 part thread x 80mm Long with 30mm diameter flanged head. This one has a separate pre-fitted loose turned steel washer. The washer is 40mm wide and 8mm thick.

This is marked as a 10.9 grade.

All three of these bolts have a black finish which is known as "self-coloured" in engineering terms.
