Tyre sensors on 2015 ford focus

Featured Replies

Over the winter I started having trouble with getting the warning tyre sensor not detected check handbook. It would go out as it warmed up but then come back again, this got more persistent and as the MOT was due I took it to the garage and got 3 of them replaced as this is what's they told me needed replacing. It went through it's MOT ok but as soon as I drove it for more than 10 mins it started saying tyre sensor not detected again. I've taken it back to the tyre place twice and they say the sensors are working and I'll need to take it to ford. On a Facebook forum someone recommended a tyre reset device which I got on Amazon. I've tried the reset procedure and It beeps for the front left tyre (a new sensor) but won't beep on the front right tyre (which I know has worked since the sensors were replaced as I got a screw in my tyre and it alerted me) if I ignore the prompts and move on it doesn't beep for the rear right tyre but it does for the rear left tyre (the only sensor that hasn't been replaced) is this likely to be something with the wiring since it seems to be only affecting the right hand side?  The tyre place used their computer thing to read both the right hand side sensors so presumably they are broadcasting something? Is it worth trying to let the tyres down and seeing if the car detects this? Any one got any ideas as it now permanently alerts about the tyre sensors unless a reset it when it alerts after around 10-15 minutes of driving and then stays on.

I've just had to get the fuel injectors replaced which cost a fortune so don't really want to have to take it to ford if I don't have to.

Thank you for any help and advice

To further the mystery, all 4 tyre pressure sensors correctly tell me to check the tyre pressure when air is let off of the tyre and the alert will go when the tyre is pumped back up again so they are all in fact functioning correctly and I've no idea why I can't get rid of the tyre sensor not detected alert

There are a few different sensors that will all fit ok, so the replacements might not be perfectly compatible.

Though I wouldn't really expect them to report a low pressure if that was the case so it does seem odd.  Don't suppose you have any other Fords of a similar age in the family?  You could try assigning one or two of their wheels to your car temporarily.  Wheels don't need to be on your car, just parked close to it.
