Timing belt kit and water pump has been done when I bought it but noticed it does have the cam chain I know the later 1.5tdci have issues with the 7mm chain and need to be replaced quite early how are the chains on these engines? Can't find much information on them are they a "problem" I know keep on top of oil changes etc which I will do but any information on these? Thanks

Only just come back onto the forum I'll update information now boss 🙂

I haven't seen any of these chains break.  16v 1.6 & 2.0 TDCI have had these cam chains going back to 2004 in the Focus.  They only became a common fault on the 1.5 EcoBlue from around 2018.

It is still worth checking them while the belt is removed, but obviously too late for that in this case.  If you keep the car long enough to have another belt change, then I would recommend checking it at that point.

Hi mate thanks for reply, if they is no known issues I would suggest it would be ok can't find anything on replacement intervals or problems with them. The car has only done just over 43,000 and looks to have had regular oil chains so hopefully be good
