Focus 2005 loss of left rear door power

Featured Replies

Hi everyone, hope somebody can help. It’s my first post here. i have enjoyed reading the posts in the past has helped me with a few issues.

focus mk2 ghia
My problem is, since upgrading the speakers on the car I have lost the power to the rear left-hand door. I have checked the connections where they come through from the door post into the door the plug there they also seem clean and tidy. I can’t seem to find any power at the plug the plugs into the door module can anybody confirm which wire is the positive and which wire is the negative so I can bypass it with a spare battery to see if the wiring is somewhere within the car or if the problem is elsewhere.

Wiring loom seems undamaged.

door module has been replaced including disconnecting car battery for a couple of hours to reset

if i disconnect the plug from door module the interior light stays on

no power window and no central locking

checked the wires in the module plug and don't seem to have a 12v supply

anyone know what colour wire in the plug supplies the power,

many thanks in advance

Logically it would be something that has happened when you were changing the speaker.

Have you checked that the plug for the door harness in to the door "B" pillar is fully seated ? The harness between the B pillar and door is detachable so that the door can be removed for repair/service.

If you use FORScan it will give an indication of the fault and circuits affected. I assume all other windows and door locks are working as normal which rules out the GEM and PDM.

Was the door module replaced before the fault? Or did the fault occur after?

Thank you

i tried replacing the module to see if it cured the problem,

the fault occurred during speaker replacement, was ok before i did them, this window doesn't work from drivers door either, i cant detect any 12 volt on any wires in the plug, i do have 2v on a couple of the wires in the plug (assume the control sense wires)

Hi. Thank you.

i disconnected this connector to see if any corrosion as seems a common issue and all looks good, this is why I want to know what wire carries the 12v to module

kind regards

Orange/Blue 12v at all times, fed from F82 (20A)
Thick Black Gnd.

Could this be an issue caused by a fuse blown? Can’t see that mentioned already above

Sir!

you are a hero, blown fuse it was exactly as you said, why all info i found said doors all on the same fuse, so I was sent down the wrong road from the off.

all working now

I thought I would confirm on a Ford Focus mk2 2005 there is a separate fuse for each of the doors powering central locking and power windows.

wish I had known this before I dismissed a fuse as other 3 doors were working fine.

the internet and most searches for help state doors do not have a separate fuse for each door

the mk2 focus does!
