Rear drivers side door open message

Featured Replies

Hi, got an intermittent drivers side rear door open message, even though it's firmly shut. Tried changing the relevant door actuator/lock, but couldn't get the window off the regulator to get to it, even following Haynes manual. So removed Fuse24, no central locking now but at least no door open message. However indicators flash more rapidly now. If I cut and tape up black/green wire between the door ajar part of lock assembly and General electronic module could it resolve the issue, meaning I could replace fuse and have central locking. I could perhaps instal a traditional door activated switch if I can't get the lock changed because of the window issue.

Unfortunately the door closed indication fault is quite common.  I have changed two front door locks, one on a 2010 Fusion, and another on a 2007 Fiesta.  A right palaver.  The switch is buried in the mechanism, so not replaceable.

The Fusion has intermittent door open alarms on the rear, which I tend to ignore TBQH, just turn the interior light off.  You cannot ignore the front, because that stops you locking the car.

Thanks for that. Even though the alarm is not sounding and annoying the neighbours I have just had to open the car, and have turned the interior light off because the hazards were all flashing- effectively a silent alarm!
