mk 3 keyless door problem?

Featured Replies

while i was washing my car yesterday my car decided to unlock it self i have the key in a pouch and in the house it was only when i sprayed the water on the front door handles (not using jet wash just a hose outside my home

also ive noticed that once ive left the car if i tap the driver door sensor it wont lock but if i tap the front passenger one it will lock

any info/help would be helpful thanks

car is 2012 titanium 1.6 auto

This is normal operation.  A 2012 model doesn't have sleepy keys.  The fobs transmit 24/7.  If your house is near the car, it can be opened easily.

The farady pouches wear out over time.  Put the keyfob in a metal tin, or sealed crisp packet, then try the door button.  It shouldn't work like that.

Both keys or just the one ?

both in pouch in house in back room

Keyless (passive) systems will lock without the key present, they just won't unlock
