Drum to Disc Converstion | 2015 1.6 tdci (Titanium)

Featured Replies

Hi lads and ladies,

So ive been looking to convert from drum to discs on the rear but cant really find anything for the model kit wise. Looking at places like eurocar parts and autocare they seem to have the parts to fit

if i was to go out and buy them one by one but to be honest its alot of effort and trial and error due to me not have doing it. Its the 2015 mk3 hatchback (facelift) titanium 1.6 tdci same engine in the

peugot and volvo im unaware of the hp but i am assuming it shouldnt matter to much as im guessing the brakes are similar across the models.

So yeah any help guides suggestions on the best way to do it or find parts/kits will be a great help Thanks 😉

(first post on here so if i made a mistake or maybe added to much let me know thanks)

I'm making an educated guess here, if you fit the rear hubs and knuckles from an st and the cables from an st, then go into forscan and change the car config to discs four corners instead of disc front and drums rear. That should be it?

1.6 TDCI in Mk3 Titanium will be 115bhp.

Rear discs were fitted to 1.6 EcoBoost and 2.0 TDCI as well as ST, so should be easy enough to find a complete used disc rear axle from a scrap car at a breakers yard.

No need to buy a complete rear axle. The disc brakes are a 100% bolt on upgrade.

To perform this conversion you only need the brake discs, brake calipers, caliper brackets, brake pads, splash shields, brake lines, parking brake cables and some mounting hardware.

Since rear disc brakes were fitted as standard on the Focus MK3/MK3.5 for most markets (countries) used parts are easy to find on for example Ebay and quite cheap.

The 271 mm rear disc brakes that are required are used on the following Focus MK3/MK3.5 versions:

1.0 ECOboost
1.5 ECOboost
1.6 ECOboost
1.6 TI-VCT
1.6 TDCI
1.5 TDCI
2.0 TI-VCT (only sold in a limited number of countries).
2.0 ECOboost ST
2.0 TDCI
2.0 TDCI ST
