Hi all just wondering if anyone has had an issue when updating the sync 3.0 nav. I updated the file from ford website for my focus st 2018. The files were just over 24gb. Whilst installing it said update complete so I tapped on the touch screen and it gave me an error code. It read error updating and stated to re-download from the ford website and try again failing this to call the customer service line. It happen so quick I don't know what the number was. The sync update was completed first this was fine. After trying again it is only giving me a 9gb update as apposed to the 24gb that was the first initial update. I'm now confused. On the ford website it still showing nav update available but sync is up to date. After reading other problem with the nav update its seems notorious for issues when updating. Tia.

Try a full factory reset on the unit first. This can clear up most issues post update, What version on Sync 3 do you have on your system as some later map updates can cause issues.

 

I did exactly the same - first update that failed was 24Gb, second attempt was only 9Gb.  After apply the second update the system appears to be working, but not sure how well.  Had a few issues finding certain addresses, so maybe I need to start again.  Alternatively, I might just use Waze - by far the best SatNav guide I have seen.  Can be used via Apple CarPlay.
