Battery terminal voltage is ?

hi its 12.6 volts

The same thing happened on our old 2012 Mk3. It still did it after leaving the battery on charge overnight. A new battery cured it.

It seems as though the ECU is programmed to inhibit starting if the battery capacity is low, irrespective of the terminal voltage. I don't know what brainless nerd developer thought that was a good idea although it seems fairly typical of modern Fords.

hi was your car fitted with stop start ? and thank you for reply

Yes, it was. When we bought the car at three years old it worked sporadically and gradually stopped working altogether. It hadn't worked at all for several years which I knew indicated the battery was losing capacity. As soon as I fitted the new one it started working but became a bit sporadic again after another three years.

As far as I was concerned it was fine not working - less wear and tear on the starter and engine.

The failure to start on the button was sudden and unexpected. There were no warning signs.
