2014 Ford Focus ST-3 EcoBoost Pre Purchase Questions

Hi. 

I previously posted this in General Discussions but saw that specific model discussions need to be in the correct Topic Thread. 

I'm viewing a 2014 (64) Focus ST-3 2.0 EcoBoost this weekend.

I've viewed it once already and it's in top condition.

The seller had things to do about an hour from when we arranged the viewing so didn't manage to give the engine the most thorough going over.

I carried out the usual used car checks -

Oil Cap
Engine Oil
White Smoke


Seller drove on test drive. Car felt strong and well planted. Listened out for anything you shouldn't hear.

Everything sounded good.

I'm just enquiring as to whether this variant of the 2.0 EcoBoost is affected by the coolant intrusion issue.

I have read it is the later Ford developed 2.0 EcoBoost Unit from 2015-2019 that suffered this problem.

Does this car hold any horrors I should be concerned with and should most definitely check for?

I will check to see if the Purge Valve has been replaced although any information on what I should be looking for there will be a great help.

It has a Forge intake unit and seller is unsure whether it's mapped.

Some documentation stating oil changes but didn't go over dates thoroughly enough.

Had a Full Vehicle Inspection Safety Pass Document from February 2025.

Any help with this will be top so any information is appreciated.
