Suspension arm corroded holes - MOT

Featured Replies

Hi,

I noticed that a corrosion hole in the suspension arm has gotten slightly bigger compared to last year. It had a small hole before, but as you can see in the photo on the left, and it passed MOT without any advice, it’s larger this year (see the right image). Do you think this will cause a failure during the MOT this year?

That should fail MOT.  Even if it doesn't I'd want it changed myself.  That piece of metal is the only thing allowing you to control the car.

Considering some of the trivial advisories I've had over the years, I'm surprised that wasn't mentioned last time.

Totally agree 👍

This takes the Swiss Cheese analogy to a whole new dimension. When the holes all line up the wheel falls off 🤣
