Forscan settings for 12v Battery.

Featured Replies

Having suffered from the low battery warnings on my Focus Mk4, I used Forscan to change the Battery Target State of Charge to 95%. Please could someone inform me about the Factory and Normal battery settings, I set both of these to the Ford stock small Varta battery? The battery is fine according to Ford dealership, my own tests would bear this out.
Thanks.

When I changed my Battery to a decent make I did change the SOC to 95% but didn't change any of the other settings and my Battery has been perfect ever since.

If you Battery is the factory fitted one then it will be well past its best now.

John, thank you. The car is only 1 year and 7 months old (registration wise). Guessing that I misunderstood the Ford year, thought it referred to the model.

Forscan's Factory and Normal battery settings intrigued me. I have found them on some Forscan spreadsheets for trucks but discovered no explanations regarding them anywhere on the internet.

I plan to get a Yuasa 7000 sometime in the near future which the battery tray is perfect for.

FORScan used to have a lot of options that you could programme when fitting a different Battery for the Mk4 Focus but they dropped most of them because they were copied from different cars and were wrong. I don't know what the Factory and Normal means either.

I don't know about the Mk4.5 Focus but a lot of us on here with Mk4's have fitted the Yuasa 7096 to our cars and are very pleased.
