Can I fit roof bars or a roof rack to my Fusion?

Featured Replies

Does the Fusion have threaded holes for bolting roof bars to the roof, under those black rubber strips in grooves on the roof?  Has anyone done this themselves and can recommend a good brand of bars or rack? TIA

Hi, I've seen Fusion's in Poland Holland & Germany with roof rails.

I'm not sure if this was an option in the UK as European/UK specifications differ.

Without pealing off the roof rubbers you won't know.

I doubt they would stamp out various roof panels as it's not cost effective.

We always get the worst deals in specification on models, European models always look better especially in Asia.

Having looked on the internet, "The Roof Box Company" does roof bars, steel or aluminium.

Hope this helps.

🤔 and of course in Asian part of Ireland.

Difficult to give an exact yes or no answer. The car is 18 years old and production specifications constantly change. I'd think probably yes, but the only way to know 100% is to remove the trim and have a look.

There is again the age issue, I doubt there will be many companies that are still producing roof bars for an 18 year model, but you could hit lucky on eBay.

I was just searching for some stuff on Amazon, EBay etc, so had a quick look while I was at it.

Certainly there are appear to be options but don't seem to use anything built into the car, though, eg

I seemed to get a lot of hits, which seemed odd, but a lot of sites seemed to have a picture of what we call the Fusion, while the text fairly obviously referred to the US Fusion/Mondeo, so a degree of caution is obviously required.
