Mk3.5 Focus has coolant leak but no loss of pressure

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I have a Mk3.5 Focus 2016 1L Ecoboost that has had all the lovely coolant leak problems they always have. I have had all hoses replaced as well as the tubing to the heater matrix.

Still having significant coolant loss, AA came out as i overheated and diagnosed as heater matrix leak as his hand was soaked when touching the firewall. I took it to my normal garage, very reputable one, and they refused to do the work as the car passed both Head and Pressure tests repeatedly and didn't want to incur a £1k bill on me unnecessarily.

I drove about 100 miles the other day and, once again, coolant tank was half full when i got to the 50 mile destination (and dripping under the car when i checked).

Are there any other options? Not really wanting to put another grand into this car as it's already screwed me since buying it!

Cheers!

Can you get a photo of the leak area?

Is it wet inside or outside the firewall?
