Adaptive Headlight Conversion - 2019 Focus Vignale

Featured Replies

Hi All,

We have a 2019 1.5l Focus Vignale and were considering upgrading the standard headlights to the adaptive versions that were an option on this car and also on the MK4 St's.

Has anyone done this or would be able to advise me of what would need to be done?

Thank you!

Have a look on the FORScan Forums.

It's a big job though. Absolutely not plug & play

You can activate Auto High Beam easily enough if you already have fixed LEDs, but no Driver's Assistance pack (which incl. AHB)

Actually, basic question is what  you have right now? Static full led? And, what is the most important, do you have automatic levelling?

Cars manufactured before around September 2019, have static-full-leds with automatic levelling. Conversion to adaptive would be easy since you have all hardware ready in place, that is HCM controller and suspension sensors, all wires. You need to change software of the HCM module (requires FRDS, or module swap) and  do some Forscan programming.

Other conversions, like from basic lamps or from static-full-led w/o auto levelling is very complicated since the amount of wiring rebuild job is big and painful. Feasible, many guys did it, but painful.

Thanks people,

I will look into this and get back to you as I don't yet know if my lights are self levelling 👍

Vignale will have self-levelling headlights.  (No adjuster knob on light switch)

They'll be fixed LEDs if not optional adaptive version.
