Ford Focus 1.5 TDCI 120hp 2015 - Oil level over Max

Featured Replies

Hi guys,

I write this topic to tell you if 4 litre oil are dangerous for my Focus 1.5 TDCI 2015 120 hp. I have do the service car alone at home but when i put in the oil (Castrol 0w30 ACEA c2, original Ford), for a distraction i have put 4 lt oil instead of 3,8 lt as tell the manual (with filter). The level oil is over Max but i have use the car for 600 km and it goes great. Now have buy wherever a pump to reduce the oil extra because i don't want do damage.

What can tell me about it ? It's really dangerous for the engine ?

Thanks so much!

That small amount over is unlikely to cause any problem. I wouldn't worry about it.

If you have driven 600 km, then, if it was going to cause harm, it would already done it.

Thank you so much!

Anyway, a few hours ago, I took out the excess oil and put it in an empty 0.5 liter bottle. I asked the same question in another forum and the answer is that you have to take out the excess oil because it is dangerous for the engine.

I did it and looking at the bottle I thought that there was a ridiculous amount of extra oil...

After 600 km I think the same as you but I don't like the gamble 😄
