I have just purchased a 21 plate connect .it has done 97k but had a new engine at 71k in April 2024. Will the new engine have the upgraded cam chain?

    Hi Tony,

    Which engine do you have? If, as I suspect, it's a 1.0 Ecoboost they won't have replaced a wet belt engine with a chain one.

    Easiest way to be sure is just post a pic of your engine and someone can confirm for you. A quick check though - if the turbo is at the front (under a big shiny heatshield) its wetbelt.

    It's the 1.5 tdci eco blue. I know what belt and chain it uses. I just need to know if it's the modified chain.

    We don't know how long it sat in storage before being fitted to your car.

    If it was built in 2024 then it should have the upgraded chain.
