Mk 2.5. 123100 miles on the clock. How many do you have?

Featured Replies

Had my mk 2.5 coming up 10 years now. Unfortunately it feels like it's coming to an end. Engine seems to be thirsty on oil these days. Also, it's never been a nippy motor but recently it just seems really sluggish going through the gears. Intermittently get the egr error code then goes away too.

I did change the intake manifold valve unit recently which did she an improvement but overall the car feels really sluggish.

Also suffering with the boot leaking when we get heavy rain. I clean it out every so often. Car stinks of a dank smell too, smells like weed. Possibly the dirty water or the pollen filter needs changing as I don't think it's been changed in 10 years 😂

Alloys need a refurb too 😂

Long live the mk 2.5 😎

Bit off, cause I already sold my mk2.5 Focus Wagon (05.2008 2.0 Duratec HE) a couple of years ago 112000 miles on clock (68000 miles when I bought). It's still everyday use with current owner and latest MOT as 132000 miles May '25.

I did throttle body cleaning and re-soldering for big connector in instrument cluster; also renewed front wheel bearings, left rear break caliber and rear shock absorbers  - otherwise normal service parts (break pads, oils, filters, bulbs, etc.).
