Ford Focus MK3 wishbone Xenon adjuster

Featured Replies

Just liking to replace my lower wishbones on my Titanium X. I see that on the drivers side there’s an arm that goes to a sensor, presumably the xenon adjuster.

Onthe new arm, there are a couple of holes but could anyone advise how to fit this? Is this new arm (in the bag) IMG_5452.thumb.jpeg.f1ff7e94987c54359f307635c8886782.jpegcorrect?

The new wishbone should have the bracket for the HID height adjustment sensor. If not you have the wrong part.

Many suppliers of aftermarket parts only supply the wishbone for regular halogen headlights which does not have the bracket.

Thankyou for the reply.

is there an adaptor for these or can I fix the original part to the new wishbone in anyway.

I’ve fallen foul of the YouTube vids making it all look simple enough. Clearly the parts place hasn’t taken into account the spec of the Titanium X because afaik, didn’t they all have xenon?

If it's same as Mk2 then the bracket is bolted on, not welded.  Just need to fit a rivnut inside the blank hole.

Yes this one’s bolted on. Hard to see as used some penetrating oil. Never did complete the work today as this put me off.

Whilst the new arm is ‘to spec’ it’s very different from the currently fitted one, thus the same ‘shape’

The original appears to be a cast metal of sorts, the new one seems to be stamped and welded sheet - is this correct?

I knew I’d anticipate some issues doing this myself, I only really do it to get an understanding of my car and possibly to save some cash as I learn….however, never seem to have the luck!

The flat welded arm is the type used originally on my own Mk2 and Mk3 Focus.

There is a chance the cast one was used with some engine types though.  Not sure I'd be comfortable swapping for one for the other.  Would try and find a makers mark somewhere to prove whether it was original or not.
