Multi colour ambient lighting, door open colour

Featured Replies

So I have finally bought a Focus. Been looking for ages for one with everything I want.  69 plate, Vignale estate, 2.0 diesel automatic, in ruby red. Sunroof, power tailgate, adaptive LED lights and manual mode gearbox.

Really pleased with it, although a bit miffed when I found out it didn't have ... keyless entry on the rear doors, no wireless charging mat, no heated washer jets.

All fixable. Bought 2 keyless door handles off ebay. Wires are in floor loom going up to rear doors, just not in rear doors themselves. But a bit of wiring and spare terminals and its all good. And enable rear doors in forscan

Fitted a genuine wireless charging mat. Couldn't believe there wasn't a single wire in the dashboard loom for any of the wires. Bit of a ball ache, had to go across and to the cluster to get the CAN wires. And yes, I know, I've already noticed it's pretty useless!

Bought a heated washer jet loom and searched for the plug on the nearside scuttle. Can't find a plug anywhere.

I'm also fitting a few extra ambient lights. 2 in each rear door and 1 under each front seat for the rear footwells.

Now here is my question. When I open the drivers door, the ambient light in the door handle lights up red. And the same for the passenger. I would really like the rear ones to turn red when each rear door is opened. But, as far as I can tell, there aren't any ambient lights specifically coded for a rear door. As I can't find any model that has them in the back.

If I fit a drivers side front handle light in the drivers side rear handle, both front and rear LEDs will turn red when the drivers door is opened, but will do nothing when the drivers side rear is opened. Anyone know if a rear ambient LED is available and on what model it might be found or have a part number?

Thanks

Gary

Never been available on the back, there are no rear door modules to control it.

I think after market kits just extend the wiring from the front doors.

Thanks. Had a feeling that was the case. No way around that then.

Thanks for that. Shame you can't buy separately those round holders that go under the front seats for the ambient light.

I have all the extra ambient multi colour lights I need though, and they all work as they should. It was just getting the rear ones to turn red when the door is opened. But I guess thats not possible
