Unable to unlock the boot manually & remotely

Ford Focus Zetec 2016 UK model - I am unable to unlock the boot both manually (boot switch) and from the key fob. Not getting any response when I press the button/switch. 

First I faced this problem intermittently for couple of days but now it completely stopped working.

Other doors are working fine.

Can anyone suggest what could be issue and how to fix it ?

    Either the boot release switch on the boot is faulty or the latch has gone down

    Are you sure nothing is trapped on the latch?

    Hi Dave,
    Thanks for replying. Nothing was trapped on the latch.
    Both the boot release switch and the latch was gone. After replacing them I am now able to unlock the boot.

    Still I find the boot is sticky when I am opening it.. at times I have to struggle and literally drop everything I hold and use both my hands to pull it up..
    I have to put more efforts to  I dont know if that is something to do with the rubber linings around the tail gate (tbh I dont see any issues like hard rubber) or something else need to be checked. Any suggestions ?

    Is the catch bent?

    Try liberal lubrication and see if it helps

    Tailgate latch striker plate probably just wants a small adjustment.
