Best lowering kits

Featured Replies

Hi, now Fred is completely finished & again flew through the MOT, I'm looking at further improvements.

New referbished ST150 wheels, also lowering the vehicle by 2 inches.

Also front & rear braces, Powder coating the rear beam, front subframe & oil pan.

Although happy with the overall look & finish, it's never finished we will always keep spending money until it's unique.

Ideas on lowering kits.

Are those picture from before you fitted the ST150 wheels?

I'm not sure what those wheels are from?  They look more Mondeo than Fiesta.  Definitely not ST150 as you say.  Those had horrible heavy 17s with ridiculous rubber band tyres...

Let's play "Guess the wheels before Martyn tells us".😀 Not Mondeo, they'd be 5 hole. My guess  is the 16" 7 spoke option from Mk 6 Fiesta, which I think could be had on the Fusion also?

Focus Mk1 1998 to 2005

My guess is Ford finis 1146768   used 15th August 2001 onwards

£206 from Ford Store on Amazon (but out of stock) I see. Thats's a 17" the Fiesta/Fusion one looks pretty much the same but is 16". Can't quite make out the tyre size on the sidewall in the pic!😀

OK, so here goes with my second guess:

Ford FUSION - Ford finis 1440412  (16")

Well guys, the current alloys as fitted & fully refurbished are 16" and an upgrade at the time on the fusion plus.

I do like the ST150 multi spike, at 17" would look great once Fred has been lowered.

I fitted the ST150 spoiler 2 months ago, the back of the fusion looks quite bland without a spoiler, there was an option but very rarely taken up, they did include a spoiler on the "Climate", but it was pathetic.

The lowering kit in looking at is "BC Racing" it's approx £1050, it's just plug in & play, the braces are "OMP" which are fully adjustable.

The wheels from a breaker £400, Powder coating £260 & tyres around £900.

As a car to drive it's brilliant, with the improvements a lot lot better.

The guys at the MOT centre were gob smacked at the overall condition "it's way better condition than a 3 year old car"
