ABS, Hill Start & Traction Control lights shouting at me

Featured Replies

About 2 weeks ago my dash lit up like a christmas tree with ABS, traction control and hill start warnings. For a few days it was intermittent, then this last week it has been constant. The car doesn't feel any different as far as I can tell but after googling I saw (here) a similar issue crop up and the advice was to use FORScan to get a diagnostic. Trouble is I don't much understand how to use the data other than passing on the log to a local garage. I was hoping some insight might be available here before I go to the garage?

From what I can gather, the rear right wheel sensor for the ABS is reporting a C003A error, saying an incorrect component is installed? And one other error (U0415) in the PAM is invalid data, due to the initial ABS error? There is also a 2nd PAM module error (U100B) which doesn't give me much insight, I tried to clear as it says DTC present at time of request, but I kept returning on refresh.

Not sure why the parking module is being thrown out by the ABS sensor, nor why an incorrect component is installed when to my knowledge its the same sensor as was in the car 9 years ago, but have included the log and photos of the FORScan DTC page in the hope it helps.

Obviously the end result is I need to take it to a local garage, but would like to be armed with as much information as possible before I go, so any help would be very much appreciated.

Don't get too much in to the why, just replace the sensor, about £25 and 30 minutes to fit.

I had similar last week, No ABS, No Traction Control, No Hill Start, No Power Steering (heavy), No Front Camera, No Active City Stop, No Speedo (digital or dial) etc., etc. Car still drivable.

No time to do it myself, as needed car for Hospital visits.

Dropped off at Ford dealer in evening and collected following afternoon.

Total, £171.55 for changing both front sensors. Happy with that, as solved a major family problem.

Note: Something else I remembered. Start Button had to be pressed slightly longer than normal to start, and sometimes it could take up to 4 presses of the button before the engine switched off. Both now normal operation since the new sensors fitted.

It's truly amazing how much on these cars break when the abs decides to throw a wobbly.
