Purr Noise with hot engine

Featured Replies

Dear all,

I own a ford focus mk4 (2022) 1.0 ecoboost 155hp MHEV. I live in a summer hot place, south Spain. When engine is hot, with temperature over 92-95ºC I can hear inside the cabin a purr noise when idle (not sure if it's there when accelerating). I've found that the noise is coming from the thermostat housing right when second thermostat opens and when electric waterpump start working. I'm not sure if this is normal or not, but it's louder when temperature is higher... Below 90ºC no noise can be heard. Do anyone has the same noise and can tell me if this is normal or not? TIA

Note. The video is not from my car, but noise is the same.
