Which fuel filter for a MK1.5?

Featured Replies

I've got a MK1.5 model (LX 1.6) and often find it annoying getting parts for this because when I type in my VRN, the websites think it's a MK2 and tells me the part is compatible when it's not and vice versa!

I'm simply trying to find a fuel filter. Can anyone recommend a part and brand please?

Thank you.

if it`s a petrol car, fuel filter is inline so no need to replace it.

Thanks.

It is a petrol one. I believe it is in a metal casement next to the fuel tank. It's recommended that it's replaced every 30,000 miles or so. Mine's done just over 100,000 now.

Is that the same thing as an inline one?

Thanks again.

Petrol filters don't need changing regularly, certainly not 30k in the UK today, but they do still need changing at some point, probably 75-100k, or 7-10 years.

Looks like the very latest MK1.5 does use the same filter as the Mk2.  Perhaps it's best if you have a look at yours to check the part number first?

Thanks very much, I'll check to make sure.

Do you know what the difference is between the one you linked and a MK1?

Do they look the same but the size is different? I've seen some filters specify say a 7.5mm pipe whiles others are 8mm.

Thanks again, I'll be able to compare when I get underneath!
