Need some advice on repairing MK1 driver seat stitching

Featured Replies

The stitching has come out on the drivers seat and I wanted to try and repair it if possible but I don't understand what it's stitched to. It feels connected to the seat foam, it it stitched to the foam? through it all together? can I repair it without taking it off or without specialised equipment?

You need to take the cover off and restitch it, it'll never look right if you try to do it from the top

So is it just stitched normally? the rest of the stitching doesn't move upwards away from the cushion so I assumed it was attached to the foam in some way.

It's probably stitched before the foam is glued to the back of the material (not the seat base)

Remove the base, remove the trim and you'll be able to run it across a sewing machine

OK, so just stitch it and put spray adhesive on the back and reapply then?

There's about 5mm of foam on the back of the material, just stich through it, it'll be ok.

You'll see when you take it off

Great, thanks very much!
