Dual clutch issue

Featured Replies

Hello,

I bought a second-hand 2013 Ford Focus with 30,000 miles on it, and I'm experiencing a dual-clutch issue where the car stutters around 2nd gear, especially after long drives. I took it to Ford for a quote, and my local mechanic looked at it as well; both said the repair would cost about $3,000. My mechanic mentioned that it’s not dangerous to continue driving with this issue, but I wanted to get some input from Reddit.

What has your experience been with this? How much did it cost to fix for you? I’d prefer to wait until I have more money to spare before getting it repaired, but I'm concerned about whether it's better to address it now. If it does break, will the repair be more expensive? Also, is the fix reliable enough to prevent the shuddering from happening again? Thanks in advance for any insights!

Is this an American Ford Focus ?
