Playing music through Sony Radio's bluetooth (A2DP)

Featured Replies

Hello there!
I have a Ford Focus MK2.5 Facelift (2008), with a GEN1 sony radio (7m5t-18c939) and a bluetooth module (8m5t-19g488),

From the beggining of the year I tried to play music through my radio's bluetooth, because I don't like the FM transmitters, neither other improvisations... I want to keep my steering wheel's radio controls too.

So I started researching on the internet. I bought another bluetooth module (CS7T-14d212), tried to config with an ELM interface, but I failed. I think  this is because the radio is too old.

Now, of course I tried to find another radio, but some folks on the internet say that GEN2 and GEN3 (those are the two compatible with CS7T-14D212) sony radio's would need rewiring.

My question is, what Sony radio should I search for, or even bluetooth module? I try to make it as much easy as I can, plug and play would be perfect.

While not a fan of them (mostly based on the hyperbole of how they are advertised), would one of those dash-mounted after-market CarPlay screens be a route forward here?  Direct connection to your stereo, and then a better Bluetooth profile being offered for phone connection...

I could be barking up the wrong tree entirely, and so apologies, but hey - just thinking out loud...
