Can anyone help diagnose the cause of this

Featured Replies

Hi there,

Random question, so this foam has appeared on the outside of the engine, next to the drivers wheel. It looks like it has consumed the connector also. Any idea where this is likely to be coming from ??

Yesterday I had to add oil and coolant, not normal for this car. But one the cylinders appears to have gone and it sounds like the DMF may also be on its way out ?? Is there any chance that it's connected to a singular point of failure or has everything gone at once ??

Did you add the oil & coolant together?  Looks like headgasket failure 'milkshake'.

I've never seen the foam on the outside before ??

Lol, just checking.

It'll be coming out of the waterpump or the crank seal if it is headgasket milkshake.  Can't see specifically where it's coming from on that photo unfortunately.

If the coolant reservoir isn't full of it, then check the oil dipstick carefully, don't wipe it the first time you pull it.

The car has gone to the garage to get clutch issue pin pointed, I'll see if they pick up on the sludge ?? I'm sure they will lol.

Ill check levels etc, but yesterday, oil and coolant were gone 😞 so filled up etc but not checked since.
