Car no start!!!!

Featured Replies

Hello all

I am new to the platform and new to ownign a Ford.

Bought myself a focus Mk3 titanium x 1.6 ecoboost. car was well kept and everythign was great i really enjoyed the car.

One morning the car would not start. Car would unlock dash would come on as if it wanted to do soemthing and then push the button and NOTHING!!!

this is where the Forum was great alot of good suggestions. I saw soemone with the same issue and they said the issue was the instrument cluster as these are a know thing. So i sent my unit to ECU testing who were great and they reported that nothign was wrong. Got the Unit back again Nothing!

I dont want to bore you all with too much info but i took it to Ford and after 2 weeks of the Master tech there being confused he seeked help from Ford uk.

Turns out that both my rear wheel speed sensors had failed at the same time over night somehow. The ABS module sends the signal to immobiliser to say the car is okay or not okay and this was preventing the car from starting the steering lock not coming off.

I just wanted to post this as i know alot of people may encounter a similar issue and its good info for all.

Welcome & Thanks for that info (perhaps it could have been found with Forscan  - it's on your "Need to know" list...)

@Shearers yeah could be something to look into. I have an autel reader which covers a wide range of cars however because I couldn't get ignition I couldn't communicate with the computers. Not sure if Forscan allows this

You're posting in the Focus GUIDES forum.

Better to carry this conversation on over in the FOCUS forum, where you will get more replies.

Your profile says you have 2023 Focus Mk3, that can't be right.
