Ford mark III new copied key no double-press dead lock

Featured Replies

Hi.  Used car came with only one working key.  But that key at least does have dead lock working when you double-press the lock button (two loud 'clunks' and the indicators flash 3 times).  So I went a got a new key cloned from the original as backup which can lock and unlock the car along with the immobiliser.  The problem is that the new key doesn't have the dead lock feature.  If I double-press the lock button there's only one 'clunk' sound and the indicators only flash once.  What can I do before bringing the new key back to the locksmith?  Thanks.

Cloned keys should be avoided at all costs, they will always present problems at some point.

While you have a new physical keyfob, the car does not see this clone as a second key.

What did you pay for this new clone ? please don't say you bought it from Timpsons.

I'll have a bet on a £240 Timpson special...  😄
