Slicing loom to transit mk8 rear lights -2 black/grey cables

Featured Replies

Hi everyone, I sliced the loom going to the rear of the van that handles the rear lights and locking mechanism as I wanted to redirect the cables through the cavities of the bodywork.

There's 2 black/grey cables that are identical (by the look of it, one goes towards a plug that handles the lock/ or central locking and one goes towards an earth point)

I can connect the cables up to which ever black/grey cables coming from the front and there is no difference to how the rear lights and locks operate.

So would I just be able to connect them to either and there be no consequences? Do they both go back to the same point? Through the same fuses or do I have to find out which is which?

Thanks

Oh dear !! The electrons won't know if they're coming or going 🤣

Actually it makes no difference, they are both just earth wires.
