Focus Telematik Control Unit Error

I have a Focus 2020. The telematics control unit was previously giving a "service required" warning. A friend suggested I could use Forscan, and he tried. My vehicle, which previously made calls and could connect via phone, now doesn't make calls and I can't connect via phone. Do I need to replace the module or does it need to be reprogrammed? If so, should the module be replaced with the exact same serial number, or should a compatible module be purchased and installed? I'd appreciate any insightful feedback from those who have it. Thank you.
