Which clutch kit for 2005 built Mk2 1.6 Petrol?

Featured Replies

As the title says. Engine is non Ti-VCT. Parts suppliers list a few options but with inconsistent info on which cars they fit.

I have a printed copy of the build data sheet from the old Ford system.

Is the date format Day/Month/Year or Month/Day/Year? Unfortunately both the day and month numbers are under 12 so it is not obvious.

Thanks for any info.

The main problem I have is that there appears to be two different types of inline slave cylinders.

The same site claims that both types are suitable for my car, but they look quite different.

Tell me your VIN or Registration number and I'll get the Ford build sheet for your car.

Thanks for the reply.

If it helps at all, I have a copy the build data sheet printed by a Ford main dealer in July 2021.

From that the car was built in November 2005. It says B5/IB5 gearbox. Engine code is HWDA.

This supplier claims both of these kits fit.

The top slave looks correct for Mk2 Focus.  But that's not to say they didn't also fit the lower one at some point.

The difference in the number of pipes from the slave should be visible externally.  Or you could buy both and return the one that doesn't fit once stripped down.

Thanks for the replies.

From the images I have seen, there appears to be two different types of single pipe cylinder.

Is that correct?

I can now confirm that the pre-2006 1.6 petrol uses a single input cylinder. This has the bleed screw mounted on a separate connector block.

The post 2006 type has the bleed screw attached to the plastic cylinder body.

The clutch was slipping due to a crack in the spring plate.
