Problem Ford focus mk1 1.8tdci fuel problem

Featured Replies

Antes que nada buenos días a todos, lamento si hay algún error ortográfico ya que estoy escribiendo esto con traductor. The problem is that fuel isn't reaching the fuel rail. At first, they thought it was the injectors, but they were checked and found to be in good condition. They were coded and started, but after that, it no longer starts. It starts if you prime the pump manually; otherwise, the car won't start and it doesn't get any fuel. I don't think it's the Delphi high-pressure fuel injection pump, since there are no chips in the system and the injectors are in good condition. The mechanic told me that when the pump breaks, the injectors usually fail as well. Ther car is a 2003 ford focus 1.8tdci 115ps

OP says: "First of all, good morning everyone. I'm sorry if there are any spelling mistakes as I'm writing this with a translator."

Welcome!
If I have this right, you have been told that "they" suspect the fuel pump has broken up, but you don't?
You say "no chips" but have you actually looked for "glitter" in the filter housing and if found it will have spread to the entire fuel system - a very expensive job (tank, fuel lines, pump, filter housing, injectors likely contaminated - Ouch!
If not then you say it will start if primed manually (how - is there a priming bulb?)
If it won't keep its prime then I'd start looking for an air leak - has anything recently been disturbed - what is the total history here?

Also (Yawn!) we need Forscan codes, if none then live data will need to be looked into but it looks like a fuelling issue (when as the filter last changed/inspected?)

let me give you someHi, context. The car stopped starting after losing power and the glow plug light started flashing.
It was taken to the shop and showed an injector error code. A friend of mine was sent to check it, and he told me they were in good condition.
It's strange the pump had broken if the injectors were in good condition. When I drained the diesel fuel from the filter,
I saw it was fine, with no impurities or anything. That's why I think the problem isn't with the pump.
I primed it manually with a hand pump, emptying the tank, and the car started. That's why I think the problem isn't with the pump.
