Which petrol is best for 68 plate focus 1.5 182bhp. E5 or E10.  What would the difference be apart from price 

This topic has been debated for years on here and other forums. Most recently:

 

higher octane fuels burn slower - effectively later - meaning in a vehicle not designed to use they will feel smoother as the burn is after the ideal point - and performance will be down a tiny bit... the later burn means exhaust valve temps are hotter (which can cause wear or damage) as more energy remains wasted lower down the stroke

Esso no longer make a 97

I only buy BP fuels its still smells like fuel - unlike the garbage from shell and esso 

Costco fuel is closer to water than petrol - a tractor I use instantly does 5mpg less on costco pretend diesel, than it does on BP fuels 
Mate only puts costco crap in his and the DPF is now 79% blocked - he won't listen

I too am a big fan of BP Ultimate E5, my car has used nothing else now for 3 years... I have very little choice as Esso no longer operate in Northern Ireland, I think their tiger escaped 😂
