Quick question – Mk2 2011 Sport battery – 065 or 07 types?

Featured Replies

Just a quick question as the Focus needs a new battery, EuroCarParts and several others list 075 batteries like Bosch etc https://www.eurocarparts.com/p/bosch-car-battery-075-4-year-guarantee-444770757 for the make and reg of the car, however Tayna just lists 065s https://www.tayna.co.uk/car-batteries/bosch/s3004/ when I enter the car eg in there? Is there any reason for this difference does anyone know, or will either type be fine? (It's a 1.6 petrol 2011 Mk2 Sport to be precise, so no stop start tech to worry about 😉

Thanks!

Both will fit, they are exactly the same size.

The 075 battery type S4 004 is a more powerful battery 60Ah 540 CCA

The 065 battery type S3 004 is a less powerful battery 53Ah 500CCA

You pay your money and gets what you paid for 👍

To go from the smaller to larger battery you’ll need to pull out the spacer block from the floor of the battery tray (just lifts out) and perhaps juggle the wiring slightly for the positive lead to reach.

Or at least I had to when I got a new 70ah battery some time ago

Fair point I missed the part about them being same size
