Fitted reverse camera, won't work

Featured Replies

My partner fitted a reverse camera up to his aftermarket radio, he has done everything what we've read on the forums and on YouTube but still no luck to get it working when in reverse. When he disconnects a wire that is connected to the camera it will work but not in reverse. The radio does have a canbus box too it aswell. We've got the coloured leads connected and a wire spliced into the reverse light just how on the instructions from a post in 2012.

You may need to get a multi-meter on the job.

Rough memory from wiring up my camera a long time ago, 2-wires for the signal from the camera to the radio. Sounds like this is ok if you’re getting it working occasionally.

Then you need to check you’re getting 12V supply to the camera when you put the car in reverse, with red being +ve and black the -ve if those are the colours of your wires to the camera.

Hope that helps
